"This was the culmination of a self-promise made 11 years ago. Then, we had afternoon tea on the patio, but can’t remember how we discovered Portloe. We said we should stay here if we ever visit Cornwall again. Fast forward to now; an unexpected opportunity to re-visit Cornwall. And it came to pass. Our stay did not disappoint- the quirky corridors to our room, the spectacular views from the windows, the bright and airy restaurant and the opportunity (again) to observe a lone fisherman working on...

"I don't think I've ever been made to feel so unwelcome at a hotel or B'n'B. We were using public transport. We were dropped off by taxi at 10am. Obviously we weren't expecting to check in but I've never stayed anywhere where luggage storage isn't available. The owner's immediate reaction was to tell us we check in isn't until 2. She did allow us to leave the luggage but I was taken aback at the unwelcoming attitude. We came back at 2. Owner complained that she had no details about the booking....

"It was as nice as our memory of our first stay, when the sun shines there is only one place to be - on the terrace. Having said that it is very comfortable to be inside. It is a very friendly place to be to enjoy Cornwall."

"We loved the Hotel Tresanton. It was expensive but well worth it. We had room 26 which is very high so you should check the room number if you have any mobility issues. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was the highlight of our 24 day stay. Our server, Izzy in the bar was amazing. "

"Sehr schönes Hotel mit liebevoll und hochwertig eingerichteten Zimmern. Punktabzug gibt es für: 1. man muss beim Frühstück extra zahlen, wenn man eine „Kaffeespezialität“ wie einen Cappuccino bestellen möchte. 2. unter unserem Tisch im Zimmer lag noch Dreck vom vorherigen Gast. 3. am Abend wurden wir an der (nicht sehr vollen) Bar nicht proaktiv bedient, sondern sind nach einigen Minuten an die Bar zum bestellen gegangen. Alles eigentlich Kleinigkeiten, dennoch trübt das das sonst sehr gute...

"A lovely welcome on arrival, shown to our room which was very clean. Breakfast was excellent, was able to order what you wanted on your cooked breakfast with a choice of cereals in the dining area and coffee or tea of choice. Staff were excellent and lovely hosts. Only four spaces for cars bit tight but not great problem. Would definately recommend."

"Clean rooms and looks like they are newly renovated, friendly staff, great amenities, good parking availability - would really recommend this hotel when visiting Truro!"

"Aircon did not work on our stay"

"The room was clean with usual facilities. Staff friendly. Parking excellent. Breakfast was extremely disappointing. Only toast or cereal supplied as part of the Bed and breakfast charge. Anything else had to be paid for as an extra. This wasn't expected and for the price of the room we feel that at the very least a continental style breakfast could have been supplied. We ended up going to a local cafe for a decent breakfast every day of our stay."

"Beautiful old world building with lovely rooms, bar the bathroom being upstairs. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good especially the breakfast. Very disappointed that they had a special curry and pint offer where you couldn't have and alternative drink and when we ordered the curry anyway we were charged £20 without the beer wheras it was £15 with the beer!"

"Booked a family room and was delighted with the spacious room and cleanliness of the property. Had a great sea view room and although the hotel was very busy we didn’t hear anything once the door was closed. Excellent nights sleep and the breakfast was fresh as you would expect from a well run hotel. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend to others."
