"Grounds are immaculate. Great view of the bush/river. Comfy bed. Good water pressure. Manager was fantastic. Good location (7 mins from New Plymouth by car). Quiet, safe. Can bike safely to New Plymouth ( sidewalk to round about on state highway 3 then side street with on road cycle path). Restaurant with yummy food on site. Things that could be better: Had only one BBQ so you need to reserve it in advance. Great stay and definitely a place I would go back. "

Seth, Nuala and David all made a point of stopping by to see how we were settling in and it was lovely to read the history behind the creation of the villas. "Absolutely loved staying at the Devon Hotel. I had initially booked for 2 nights but because of some spare time, decided to go an extra night. Unfortunately the room I had booked wasn't available for the extra night so I had to book a different room. The staff at reception when checking in sorted it all out for me so that I was in the same room all 3 nights and made the experience seamless. "I chose this place for the position as it is right next door to the museum and research centre in the middle of town. I made a mistake pre booking as when I checked in I overheard a walk-in getting a room for $38 dollars less per night than I had paid so think about the busyness of the hotel in winter. The restaurant seems expensive as there are great eateries within easy walking distance with cheap breakfast, lunch and dinner options ( you do get 15% discount if you open an account with the...
