"The reception/bar areas were good, my room, a premium double was not what I was expecting very basic, bit scruffy, the usual 4 tiny pots of uht milk, when you need 3 for one drink, most 4starred hotels provide a small fridge in the rooms but not this one. Didn’t have breakfast, £15, didn’t look worth it, also bar very expensive. Nearly £10 to park the car, won’t be back"

"Always a friendly welcome here. FOH, bar, restaurant staff are a credit to the hotel. Premium rooms aren't honestly much of an upgrade on the regular rooms, and the previous 3 trips now the complimentary nibbles haven't been in the room. That said, this has always been remedied promptly. Good veggie options for snacks & dinner. Always my preferred choice of location when I'm in the area."

"We were visiting for a gig at Piece Hall and are so glad we chose to stay at this absolutely wonderful hotel on the outskirts of Halifax. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm, polite and helpful and this continued for the duration of our stay. As it was such a nice day, we sat in the beautiful garden and enjoyed drinks and food from the bar menu before heading into town for our concert. . Breakfast (extra) was also very good indeed. It’s not the cheapest hotel, and not the most fancy either, but really, everything was perfect, so the cost was more than worth it. Highly recommended."

"Firstly location is great as very central - easy reach of train and bus stations, shops etc. Staff friendly and informative. Room was very clean and had a fan, tea and coffee. Furnishings are dated but serviceable. Bed was very comfortable with soft pillows. Bit of a rabbit warren getting to room up and down stairs. There is a lift but it's slow. Would stay again as such a great location."
