"Lacked charisma whilst it is a lovely building the rooms and corridors looked tired and could do with a fresh coat of paint. Breakfast was nice but no personal touches. £10 each to use the pool was a bit poor as a resident I have never paid this surcharge in any other hotel so we didn’t bother. We booked this hotel as it was close to princesshay shopping which was about 3 mins walk perfect. £15 to park there for 24 hours seemed reasonable. "

"Stayed here afew times as its in a great location . The hotel , including the rooms are always clean & tidy . Beds are very comfortable with a range of pillows . Two downsides to staying here, the lack of hotel parking & the breakfast can be a bit hit or miss, especially when the hotels really busy . Definitely not worth the price they charge £16 , unless you manage to get a deal ! "

"Receptionist brilliant ! We got lost sat nav took us down a dirt track , very helpful! Food awful, fish had been cooked twice tough, ribs hadn’t been cooked properly so mainly fat. Rooms spotless and very reasonably pruced"

"We were welcomed by Ashley (also the Chef) and allowed in to our room early so that we could change for a wedding we were going to locally. They provided us with delicious sandwiches and coffee to keep us going until the reception. Coming back later, they were there with another ready welcome and fresh milk in case we needed coffee or tea in our room before bed (which by the way is a selection of wonderful organic leaf tea and ground coffee). "Every person we met in the hotel was extremely friendly, happy, helpful and welcoming. We were looked after so well by everyone, including dealing with allergies in the restaurant. The breakfast was good and the dinner was wonderful (very flexible with the menu). The bed was really comfortable. Even though our rooms were near the road I slept easily with my earplugs. The only slight challenge was turning on the huge rose style shower without getting your hair soaked as we didn't have a shower...

"We where down to look at a property nearby we Booked Barton gate farm because it was near to where we needed to be for a few days, the farm is located just on the border of Cornwall and also just outside Holsworthy, It’s in a ideal location away from the hustle and bustle so peace and quiet, the owner was extremely welcoming and really attentive to your needs, the room we had, room 7 was a really good size and a bed that you will literally melt into, Continental breakfast is included in your...

"The property was gorgeous! The room was large and the bathroom updated. Staff were really helpful and the food was very good. It IS very remote so if you are going as a destination to really use the amenities-golf course, pool, spa, etc., it was great. We had hoped to use it as a base to travel out from but the roads were so narrow and rather treacherous getting in, we didn’t feel like driving back and forth to other locations in Devon and Cornwall, which was too bad. "
