"This is a very large and quite old hotel. The room we stayed in was large and pleasant but the hotel's plumbing was loud enough to disturb our sleep, as were the footsteps of the people in the room above. The WiFi in the room was inadequate and kept cutting out. I had to use the public areas to work. We booked the hotel because it had an outdoor pool, only to find that it was out-of-service during our stay. Whilst this might have been unavoidable, the staff weren't particularly concerned about...

"Room was ok arms of chairs worn away, bed was hard but fairly comfortable the furniture what the TV was sitting on was broken inside apart from that was acceptable as I stayed one night that was enough evening meal was good and breakfast was excellent surprisingly lots of choice so in all QA bit rough around the edges but ok"

"No onsite parking as you have to park in the 4 level parade behind the Premier inn . The lift doesn’t work to get to street level . I have mobility issues and the 8 flights of stairs ? Had to walk down the ramp with suitcase in tow hoping you don’t slip or get stuck by a car . Asked the girl at reception, she’s like , well some times it works and sometimes it doesn’t! Big help . Complained the following day-and still not working asked the guy at reception to call the city council and complain....

"Room was a good size with a sea view, bed was comfortable sadly the hotel is a little tired and needs a spruce up . For the price I would stay again"

"The hotel was wonderful. All of the staff without exception were friendly, pleasant, courteous and helpful. I loved the Yoga sessions thank you Franny, Caroline and Laura. The hotel is out of the way, which suited us fine but it is difficult to locate and if you want shops etc the Beach Club is not for you. The curtesy bus was extremely useful."

"Staff were lovely, location is gorgeous, rooms very outdated and in general the flow of constant tour buses full of elderly travelers made me feel like I was staying in a nursing home. Staff very rigid about breakfast timing and use of breakfast room not alllowed after 10:00am so if you are not an early riser, take note. Lift was also broken for full 4 nights of our stay and we were on the 3rd floor."

"A very traditional old fashioned hotel in an excellent location on the sea front. Unfortunately we did not get the room we had booked. We booked a deluxe double or twin with sea view. Our confirmation from Expedia clearly showed a photo of the room type we had booked as did their website. We had also checked the hotels own website which also showed the deluxe sea view room and described it has having more space. On being shown to our room on the top floor it was clearly not the room we had...

"Loved the short walk to shops, restaurants, museum, beach, The Red Lion is truly in the middle of everything…a great location. Having in parking on site was great, and we we happy to get a spot. The charming decor and balcony looking towards the sea was delightful, though our tight schedule only gave me about 15 minutes sitting there."
