"The accommodation was disappointment. Not only did I find that there was an addition £12.50 to pay for parking at the property, which was not specified in the booking. The property is clearly advertised as having doors that open from the lounge to the outside sea front. On arriving at the property I found the doors from the lounge locked and no key available to unlock them. "Another amazing stay at this central hotel. So close to the Barbican. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. If I had to find a negative it would be that the breakfast is no different to a premier inn. It feels cheap compared to the incredible offerings in the same restaurant for an evening meal. It has a huge selection however the quality feels cheap imo"

"Airy and cool 🙌 which was much needed in the heat wave. Modern and stylish appearance. Staff were okay, nothing outstanding but as expected for what you pay. Could leave bags with them as wasn’t time to check in which was helpful. Room had good enough space and was clean. Hairdryer, coffee/tea facilities but I’d rather have a fridge in weather like this and no iron. Large shower but the shower tray didn’t drain very well at all and so it was difficult for 2 people to shower one after another and it did smell a little of damp/stale water. Lush pillows. And they provided an extra fan for the room which we were grateful for. Parking good at £10 but get there early."

"Quaint doesn't describe this place. It looks like it had been a coaching inn in the 1600's then, apparently, it had various uses until it became a nightclub(?) in the 70's and then a hotel/country pub/ repository for a very eclectic mix of furniture styles!! The staff were really friendly and helpful and the grounds are lovely. Breakfast was typically 'full English' fare served in a gorgeous upstairs room above the bar. All in all a pleasant overnight stay and would certainly recommend to anyone taking the ferry from Plymouth. Downside - Cornish Tea is just like any other tea-bag tea only without the flavour."
