"Food at Hetland Hall was very good. The rooms were comfortable. Staff were efficient but not friendly. We tried to cancel one night of our stay due to unforeseen circumstances, and the expedia website was not user friendly"

"Centrally situated near to all amenities. My single room was basic but comfortable enough, spotlessly cleaned every day and quiet. Breakfast (included) was plentiful and well cooked and presented. I recommend that you check the hot water on entry as when I checked in I wsinceas very tired after my journey and piled into bed. "We felt right at home from the moment we met Freda outside her lovely B&B. Our room was clean and cool, bathroom was very nice as well. Big TV and coffee & Tea on our table. The house itself is very charming and historic. The next day we were greeted by a hearty and delicious homemade breakfast by Freda, we even got to meet Gypsy! Her sweet doggie. We loved our short time in Dumfries, I hope we make our way back there again. We will definitely be staying at the Huntigdon once more"

"Friendly staff but a bit slapdash at breakfast, rooms comfortable but south facing rooms need a portable aircon unit when warmer outside as the room was stiflingly hot despite window open and fan on. Excellent food which we could not fault for two nights dinner."

"Aberdour is a lovely little old gem in an idyllic neighborhood, close to the train station. It’s run by the inimitable Amanda, who is the best host I’ve ever met. The place is older, and a bit frayed- but in the way the Velveteen Rabbit is frayed.
