"Had a very nice 2-night stay at Loch Long Hotel with my daughter and grandson. On arrival the reception area is very bright, modern and welcoming. The man on reception is extremely polite. After reading some really negative reviews I wasn't expecting much but was more than pleasantly surprised by how nice it actually is. We stayed in the family room, which is small but adequately eqipped with a double and single bed and bath. The room was lovely and warm,bedding was very clean and the hot water...

"Beautiful room, tremendous view, lots of little touches, e.g. binoculars on the window ledge, dressing gown and slippers, a dram left on the window ledge, a proper bottle of milk left in the fridge, a wee bottle of irn bru, energy bars….. and the list goes on! So very thoughtful. We had the opportunity to speak to both Peter and Nicola and they were genuinely interested in us having a great time, which we did. "The location is okay, however the hotel is old and in very bad condition. The room they gave me at first had a huge window in the bathroom and no shades, also the curtain shower did not close properly and there was a ball of hair in the corner of the bathroom floor: nasty, horrible, disgusting, unacceptable. I complained and they gave me another room which was better but still bad. Breakfast was poor. I do not recommend this hotel. "

"Had a great stay. The single bed was very comfy and the bedding was of good quality. The room is compact but very clean. Not having a window did not bother me. It is in a great position right next to train station, the ferry and next door to Wetherspoons Only a couple.of.minor things for me is you only get one towel and you can hear movement above from the restaurant.But apart from that I would recommend these rooms to anyone visiting Oban. "We had a lovely room with a large bathtub. The bed was very comfortable. The town lost power but we still had hot water which was awesome as it allowed us to have hot showers in the morning. They also made arrangements for a complimentary hot breakfast our second morning when the power was back on. Holly was excellent and enabled us to check in even without the power.
