"The manager Gaetano (not sure about the spelling) was extremely helpful and friendly. We only stayed there for one night and he called and made reservations for us for both lunch and dinner. Very good restaurants. Were were grateful that he called the taxi and negotiated a fair price for us to go to the airport. Btw, hiring a taxi is not as simple as I thought. We were way overcharged many times. This is another story. The breakfast was good and exceeded our expectation. The breakfast room has an ornate frescoed ceiling. We were impressed by the this baroque building's grandeur once we stepped inside. We found out from the manager that it was built in 1780, once the palace of a Sicilian baron. The location of this hotel is in a walking distance to all major attractions in the old town. Our room was on the 1st floor (2nd floor in the US) and we were pleasantly surprised that there was even a small elevator! I have never been this pleased from my semi-random hotel selection. I felt like I won the lotto this time! Thank you again to hotel manager Gaetano for having made our stay very pleasant and unforgettable. I have never put so much time in writing a review but I have to do it this time as a way to thank Gaetano. Gaetano, you are the best! Thank you."

"The star rating on this property by various sources appears way too high. The rating and name and some photos imply it is a luxurious full service property. It is not. There is no one at the front desk from 10am to 8am. The street noise level, at lease in some rooms, is very loud. I was surprised the room did not come with a noise machine and ear plugs. One source stated airport shuttle - no such shuttle - they call you a taxi. The room itself is very very basic - nothing luxurious. "

"This place is terrible. The bed is terrible, the location is rough, the staff is terrible. Over all the experience was terrible. We were promised breakfast, and there was a half working coffee machine and a couple wrapped muffins that were not restocked. The room had bugs, and they did not go away. The bathtub was disgusting and took forever to fill up. Also a moth flew out of a jet when we turned it on. The bed was terrible to sleep on and folded like a taco. My wife and I didn’t sleep well at all. The sheets on the bed kept coming off because they were too small on the bed. If that wasn’t the worse part, they claimed to need a “tourist tax” the day before we checked out. This was not included in the listing and was really aggravating. It’s not the end of the world to pay 30 euro, but it was just dishonest. When I tried to say it wasn’t in the listing they showed up to the room demanding to pay. The staff also was never on site unless they needed our money. The TV also wouldn’t connect to the WiFi and so you were limited to prime video for entertainment. Not the end of the world but this place boasted “free WiFi.” The bed side tables were being held on by two screws into drywall. One strong push and they fell off. This was a miserable experience. Do not go here. Save your money. The few good things were that the shower was nice, and they restocked towels. They also gave us a few meal vouchers for a coffee shop down the road. That place I would highly recommend."

"Giada (sp?) was on duty pretty much the entire time we stayed at the hotel and she couldn’t have been more helpful. Her welcome and orientation to both the peculiarities of the lock system and to the surrounding area (restaurants, local sites, etc.) was very helpful. She served us well in the morning and arranged for our transit to the airport. The room was spotless, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was varied and ample. We would highly recommend the hotel and the area."
