Well worth a stay!

A surprise two night stay to celebrate my wifes birthday. Room had lovely views of the Moray Firth and beach. Likewise the restaurant had fantastic sea views. Good Breakfast selection and restaurant menu was excellent with good quality locally produced fresh food. The Cullen Skink to die for! A nice quiet and picturesque path leads from the hotel to the town of Cullen.

Rooms very small and there was very little space around the double bed. Two senior members of staff seemed to be the only ones able to make any decisions and the young girls who made up the rest of the staff were polite and eager to help, but didn’t seem to know what to do.

Good hotel but needs to address a few issues.

The hotel is well situated and the staff were very helpful. Our room had a very comfortable bed and seemed to have been recently renovated & decorated. There was a table with two comfy chairs looking out to sea which we enjoyed. However the electrics had not been adapted fully to accommodate the renovations meaning there was only one useable socket. The plumbing in the en-suite had also not been brought up to date meaning the toilet was difficult to flush and took a long time to fill up, The door handle easily jammed too - we did report these things. Updating the ensuite and sorting out electrical sockets would make such a difference. The food was actually very good but would recommend avoiding the expensive 30 day steak, I ordered medium/rare and it came very well done. The hotel needs to tweak a few things to make what is essentially a nice place to stay into what people expect these days.

Our room was described as a cosy standard double with sea view. We expected a small room so we were very surprised that the room size was of adequate size with a generous bathroom. We found the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast and the food was lovely. There is a easy walk to the village which is very pretty. Worth the visit.

Older well maintained hotel with brand new bathroom fittings (walk in shower with on demand hot water). Gorgeous views from the hotel. Dinners and breakfasts were very good. Hotel staff was helpful on what to do in the area (and warned us of a bridge that was out). Not far from many Speyside distilleries.

Didn't quite meet expectations.

The hotel room had excellent sea view. The hotel itself lacked charm or character. The decor felt tired and unappealing. It felt more like a guesthouse than a hotel. The bar area and dining experience lacked atmosphere. The sea views from the dining room were indeed great, but the dining room itself felt more like a canteen. The food was fine. We ate there for breakfast and dinner and no complaints there. A short walk out of the hotel to a footpath leading into town with good views.

This was by far the best hotel we have stayed in. Everything was excellent from the view in the bedroom and breakfast room to the friendliness of staff. Comfortable bed. Very good breakfast. I am a fussy tourist and it honestly was a really good all round experience.

Terrific location across the road from golf course and beach. Staff extremely friendly and eager to help. Restaurant and bar were excellent. Stayed in Rm 12 with the turrent( extra space with great view) Best place to stay along the coast!
