"It is what it is! A recognisable hotel right next to the airport. It's not a destination hotel and there are people coming and going all the time. If you have an early start or a late arrival, it's a perfectly adequate place to spend a night."

"The hotel is going through updating, the swimming pool was ok, the room was very dated, the bath panel was broken but all we wanted was a bed for 1 night. When we left one if the updated rooms was open and I must say they looked beautiful. When this hotel is finished I'm quite sure it will be of good standard."

"This place is quaint but not super welcoming. The cottage was cute but not the comfiest beds. We didn’t get a code to check in and didn’t realise the reception would be unmanned. The continental breakfast was a bit odd - self service without clear instructions. Wasn’t all put out at 8am and then a girl came and brought some more things. Had to make our own coffee. "

"We love how great this hotel is - it's clean and modern and so close to the railway drop off for Manchester airport. No need to pay for a taxi you can walk from the train station to the hotel then it's only a few minutes walk to the walkways for the Manchester airport terminals. Very convenient and good value for money. We also enjoyed some wine and a lovely meal on our arrival. Impressed"

"Excellent location in centre of Buxton and helpfulness of staff. Very good breakfast and good value for money overall. Ancient and very temperamental lift meant that most users did not understand its quirks, and so it was often left on the wrong floor. This would cause problems for those having difficulty with stairs. Also modern bathroom had inadequate grab handles in the shower."

"The host was very kind and helpful. The room was small for three people, and hot. It was right on the road so we had to keep the window closed all night. Perhaps an upstairs room would be more comfortable. The stay was certainly fine, but quite simple/basic."

"We went outside on the patio to enjoy a drink in the sun. I went inside to order some drinks and was told you have to use the QR code to order. But since i was their the waiter took my order but informed me this was an exception. How stupid is it to expect guests to download or scan QR codes just to order drinks and a meal. Do they expect OAP;s to do downloads or scans. Very poor customer relations in this hotel as everything is automated, from check in, to check out, to ordering meals and...

"This pub was a great find, lovely staff, great breakfast, parking easy and free. The history was amazing. The Gaskell tower is a must. We stayed in a heatwave , the room was warmer than expected, and we should have asked for a fan. The only slight problem, not the pubs fault, it is on the direct flight path for Manchester airport, they did stop flying between the hours of 11.30pm-6.00 am!!"

"Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. "

"The hotel is very well located for a short walk into the village, or to the train station. The hotel car park has a couple of EV charging points in it which worked perfectly and were much appreciated. My only observation would be that the decoration in our room was a little tired in places, nothing terrible though it didn't spoil our experience, and the room was perfectly clean. The staff were all fab, very helpful and friendly. We had both an evening meal and breakfast and both were tasty and...
