"A fabulous hotel and well worth a stay! We made a last minute booking as a stop off on the motorway - it's about a mile from the M5 but you'd never know it. A beautiful old building and great amenities mean you don't either need or want to go elsewhere. A choice of a fine dining restaurant or the bistro-style Atrium meets all needs. "A Characterful Coaching Inn set in lovely countryside - staff on the reception were very good, Bar and waiting staff, young but pretty good. The 2 steak dishes we had were also pretty good. "A good overnight stop on our journey to the south coast! Very friendly staff in the bar welcomed us, and were extremely helpful. Nicely decorated and spacious rooms. A good choice of decent meals on the bar menu available in the pub, so convenient not having to dine elsewhere. Excellent value, and both the evening and morning staff were great. Yes, a bit of road noise, and extractor noise heard in our 2 rooms, but we are used to silent nights living in a rural location!"

"Whilst a little out of town this is a great place for a north/south stopover. Probably one of the best hotel breakfasts in a while, compared to many a higher end hotel chain. Tasty, hot (most important) and good quality."

"We enjoyed our stay, however the bed was only small my 6’1 husbands feet hung over the end, other than that it was comfortable. Its a good 15 minute walk into town for a restaurant but there are plenty of take aways about 150 yards away, and a pub about a 5 minute walk. Our room was at the back overlooking the river so it was lovely and quiet."

"Fabulous location within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do. Very helpful polite and friendly staff at reception, in the bar and restaurant, and at breakfast. We stayed in the old building rather than the annex and, as is often the case with old buildings, there were some quirks but nothing that was a problem. We would happily stay there again if in the area."
