"When I made the reservation I thought we were at the main lodge and not at the camp. Of course the property is beautiful Accommodations were nice beds very comfortable , staff and was great but having to get up to walk to the bathroom was not fun for me so in the future when I book I will be making sure I’m at the main lodge. I think the camp is great for backpackers and those on a budget. "

"Had a two bedroom villa with 3 beds. Very clean and nice with small individual pool. Nice space to come back to after excursions. About a 30 min walk from downtown San Ignacio which wouldn't want to do at night based on having to walk on the street. Can get cabs arranged from hotel."

"Very nice property with great staff. The amenities are a bit expensive and remember that many cabins do not have air conditioning. This can be uncomfortable during the hot months. "

Housekeeping was quick to fix the issue however. Also, I can tell the towels were cheap, the dinner rolls at the restaurant were microwaved, and the in room bar snacks were old. It would be nice if the owner invested more into these small details. For the rate per night, it must compete well with other luxury hotels. Overall, great...

"We had a great stay at the West House overall. Good location if you want to be able to walk around San Ignacio (probably the nicest hotel in that area). The reason for the mixed review is that we had something “go missing” from our room during our stay. It wasn’t something that we would ever bring out of the room with us and the worst part is that it was inside one of our bags when we left the room, meaning someone either went through the bag and took it or it fell out during the room cleaning...

"The resort is in a delightful location. The location makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the jungle. Laying in bed listening to Tucans calling was amazing. The pool is amidst trees with lots of local birds, including tucans flying overtop. A nice hiking trail on the resort. Close to all the local activities with pick up at the hotel. "The hotel was pretty modern and new. The double suite was very large and beautiful. It was a pretty quiet, family business and the staff was so nice and accommodating. It felt like staying with family. The food was delicious as well. The area is pretty isolated, but a short cab ride can take you to town for groceries and restaurants. Super refreshing and pretty pool, and the beds were SO comfortable. "

"I'm very happy we stayed here. Simple. Sweet. We did not use the AC and left the windows open for air. It was a little noisy at night, but not the fault of the hotel. Ezra made us really delicious breakfasts for us each morning. Staff were all very kind. "
