"The hotel has seen better days. The staff is friendly and helpful and that's pretty much the only good thing about the hotel. The rooms could use a remodel but they're sufficient for a good night's sleep. The breakfast buffet was lacking; the eggs and sausages were dry and the bacon was burnt. At $25/person for breakfast, we expected better. Would I stay here again? Not if I didn't have to. Was here for a conference so it was the convenient option, but the Hilton Arden West wouldn't be my first choice in Sacramento."

"Our stay at the Citizen was excellent. It’s a beautiful hotel with historic features. The manager was very helpful, as well as the valet staff. The bathtub is an interesting design. It’s difficult to get into. We enjoyed the restaurant for lunch and brunch. I highly recommend a stay at the Citizen."
