Meadowbrook Inn

"We stayed in the annex which was spacious and had a microwave and mini fridge. The elevator was out of service so we had to walk up to our room. We had a king bed which was reasonably comfortable. The room was very spacious and clean but the sun porch furniture was literally shredding. We had put the ac on auto but it never seemed to shut off. It was one large vent in the center of the room blowing on the bed. We had to shut it off at night as it was too drying. Hot water was great and we did take advantage of the pool which was quite large, good for laps. Good wifi and large selection of stations on satellite TV. The hallway carpets were dated and it was surprising to find the entrance door to the annex with no security lock. Also no diet soda in the vending machines. Very convenient location could walk into town. The front desk receptionist gave us a bottle of wine as we were there celebrating our anniversary which was a nice touch. There is a working gas fireplace which is a nice touch. Despite the shortcomings we did enjoy our stay."

"Overall good experience except for a wall heater that would randomly come on when not needed and couldn’t be turned off without some frustration. Nice and roomy layout. Equipped with most things you’d need for a stay."

"The lodge property is old time rustic, which was what we were looking for in the mountains. We made good use of the kitchenette in our room. Sauna, large hot tub and large indoor pool were very clean and relaxing. We will visit again and bring our grandsons next time. Authentic vintage North Carolina lodge."

"Location to Grandfather Mountain was great. A/C was great. Kitchen does not have some basic utensils and is not fully supplied (as advertised) - fortunately there is a Food Lion nearby where we bought what should have been supplied. Sofa and chairs did not feel clean and we put a sheet over the sofa. Beds and bed linens were good and clean. But, great place to have a family get-together to attend the nearby Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain."
