"After a long flight, the spacious room with comfortable beds and private bathroom were excellent. This was a place to relax and recover. Staff were helpful with transport. The location was handy for walking to nearby attractions..as to the bathroom, there was a solid door i.e. NOT glass...this was a big plus for privacy."
"I loved this resort. It was a tropical getaway that was much needed. I really enjoyed the pool. Fresh spring water, no chemicals that hurt your eyes or skin. I did have ants in the room because I left food out, but its nature so I wasn't upset, just had to be mindful of my surroundings. Unfortunately, I did not do the eco tour which I know would have been amazing. I will defiantly be back to stay."
"Everything was good. I like that it's eco-friendly so they clean the room every 2 nights. Allows for those days where you just need to hole up. The quality of pillows could be improved. For some reason the sides/edges of the pillow were hard that it bruised my chin. So at checkout when I gave my feedback, the front desk staff advised to call/write-in next time to ask for a change of pillow. Hopefully this tip is useful to future guests."
"we stayed in 2 seaview rooms on the 10 flr with two grandchildren. The view is fantastic, rooms are functional, well kept and clean.
Our 3 yrs old grandson son enjoyed the swimming pool and the beach. It’s my nth stay at this hotel and have brought my children here when they were young and also a few company retreats here. There is no lack of activities for the kids.
Breakfast was very good with among the most number of choices of food. Besides the kid’s corner, there is a baby corner too - well thought out - must be commended. There is a total of 7 coffee machines - no queue - queuing for coffee is a typical issue in many hotel. Also all food stations are manned by chefs and there is plentiful of service staff helping customers.
We stayed at banyan mandai rainforest resort in Singapore a month earlier. in comparison, banyan has many teething issues, breakfast and service are at best mediocre. Banyan is also overpriced 600+ per room versus shangri-la less than 500."
"Room was quite spacious but the lighting was too dim. Dated furnishings. Found a lipstick stain on bedsheet when we returned at 11pm. Didn’t want to call housekeeping as it’s only a night so just cover with towel and slept. There was quite a crowd at breakfast but staff were patient and courteous. A good variety of breakfast spread but quality is average.
A plus point of this room is the water filter installed for guests convenience. Complimentary snacks and drinks at mini bar.
Room not soundproof and can hear noises from the neighboring pipes and corridor.
Having said that, it was pleasant to wake up to various types of birds chipping."
"Very clean and comfortable stay! Drinking water is available and the room has filtered water which was great. There were a lot of pools and have a great view. However, they had some construction during our stay so we couldn’t use all the pools. Staff were helpful, location was near the tourist areas and food spots. Would recommend!"
