Just returned home from a 2 nights stay at the white horse . Scott and his staff are very friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again when visiting York . Thanks for a lovely stay .

This hotel is in a perfect spot just out of York as to be quiet but close enough to walk into York. It has a relaxed friendly feel with it and nothing is to much trouble for the staff, I would not hesitate to recommend it and will definitely stay there again when we next ho to York.

Should have on the website that they have music in the pub that you can hear in the rooms. Other than the noise we had a good experience. People were very friendly.

The white horse , a little gem in a beautiful city
A very pleasant stay , room warm and comfortable, 5 minute walk from the minster , host's and staff very welcoming, great breakfast and wide variety of beers and spirits , would highly recommend a visit

We travelled to York for mini break staff were amazing. Room was immaculate. Breakfast first class. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Nightmare!
The room was a disgrace! Head boards were all scratched & tattered & old. No mattress protectors no top sheet. Bottom sheet didn’t fit the mattress. They were old flannelette sheets & Dovet cover. Towels were old & tatie. Blinds were broken. Has to stand on bed to pull light switch on. Room was freezing cold. Just a little electric radiator. Decor was old wood chip red wallpaper. It was disgusting! And depressing. Had to climb 3 flights of steep stairs with cases as well. Breakfast was un edible. The guy that cooked it, was wearing dirty clothes when he brought it out to us. Then was cleaning the rooms with the same clothes he had cooked breakfast in.

Nice size room. Nice to have a proper bath as well as a shower in the bathroom. Staff very helpful. Excellent location in the centre of York. Not suitable for disabled access to the bedrooms as there is no lift. Bed springs were a bit wonky.

Fab find!
Great atmosphere staff are so helpful. The cleaning is top notch our room was spotless!!Good quantity products made the breakfast it was so tasty and piping hot!! Definitely recommend this lovely little pub with its coal fire so cosy and friendly!

Great for a night in York.
Great place for a night in York, just a few minutes walk in to the centre. Only complaint was the uncomfortable mattress!

Perfect Location
Friendly, attentive Staff. Room & en-suite were nice and clean. Breakfast is lovely. Fantastic location. There's parking just across from the Hotel, and at the Train Station (about a 10 min walk).

Brilliant stay at the white horse
Loved our stay very friendly welcome and rooms were nice and big with all mod cons needed for stay .breakfast included was very nice too couldn’t fault anything with a few steps out of door you were in the York walls ..

Happy with our stay, good location, lovely staff, rooms were nice and clean, bed was comfy. We originally didn’t know where to park but found parking down the next street Via your parking space app which was £10 for 24 hours.

Accommodation is nicely placed outside the castle wall. Stayed Fri & Sat with a different band on each night. Wes the landlord was very helpful and the RAJ restaurant opposite was also a highligt

Yes its a pub and it has live music till 23:00 or there about But to then have a party till 04:45 is just unbelievable as they advertise rooms but clearly have no understanding of what normal behaviour is! If you plan an all night party after the music DON'T RENT OUT THE ROOMS. If you think thats normal practice then don't try to run a Pub hotel

Great location, and excellent value. The room was clean and roomy, the ensuite was a nice size. I had a problem with the parking and they helped me sort it out. Good size breakfast also. Really enjoyed the stay

Different but we liked the staff and the room.
Staff were fabulous and we enjoyed our stay here. Only problem we had was WiFi not working in our room and we had to sit in pub to do next bookings for trains and accommodation. It was hard to concentrate with noise of people and music.

The room was decent enough, but the walls were quite thin. I could hear people talking in the office next to our room as well as the live music that was going on downstairs. Glad it was only one singer/acoustic. However, the staff was amazing, food was good snd reasonable and the pub walking distance to everything. I would definitely stay again
