Loved the location so close to centre of York without being in the centre. Easy to park, friendly staff lovely rooms and cosy bar area with great choice of beers. First time stay bit we will return.

It’s a good find. My room was very modern and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and gave me good recommendations. Finally the outside garden/ beer garden was nice at night. Heating on most the tables, good drinks and food. Even rugs if you get really cold. It’s a great place away from home. 👍

Amazing front-of-house staff - very warm and welcoming with multiple suggestions to enjoying your time in York. Super walkable to "touristy" destinations - and very walkable from the train depending on home much luggage you're hauling. We struggled getting hot water in the shower - more of a room temp. But all in all, an absolutely beautiful property and fun, kitschy Churchill theme and decor - super cute.

I had a wonderful stay. The room is cozy and delightful and the restaurant was great. The Churchill staff from check in to food and bar service are truly helpful and affable.

I thought that this hotel represented excellent value for money. My room was lovely and beautifully decorated. The toiletries in the bathroom were very nice indeed. The tea and coffee making facilities were excellent. Good quality (Yorkshire) tea bags, and instead of the little tubes of very poor quality coffee, there were proper coffee bags, including a decaf option. A choice of white or brown sugar was available and I definitely appreciated the kitkats!.I will definitely visit again.

Superb and well maintained premises, exceptionally professional, kind, welcoming staff. Good selection of dining options and exquisite room and decor, only let down by the fact that the cold water tap on the bath was unfortunately faulty.

Excellent city break hotel
Really quirky and homely feel. Was slightly surprised at the size of the room; thought it would be slightly bigger when I booked slightly bigger room. Staff are superb. Very informative and happy to help. The domes / pods to eat in are excellent. Close to the city centre with only 10min walk. Car park on site is the best priced in York and well worth it if you can get a space.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is lovely and very impressive. We didn’t eat there but the food looked amazing as we had drinks at the bar very good stay for me and my wife will stay again in the future

Very nice, homely, friendly hotel. Nice restaurant bar. Only complain why you have to charge for parking for staying guests.

Stay in York every couple of weeks and had nanny to try the Churchill do some time, was so much better than where I had stayed before.

It was expensive for what is was, the room was so hot like a sauna. Not much air flow, we had to keep the door open and use a fan. The room was cool but just too hot. Booked for a family of three had to pay an extra for a bed, which i think should been included and parking is quiet expensive. Breakfast was ok again expensive for what it is.

Great place
Wanted to spend a few days away for Christmas with my wife, this hotel didn’t disappoint. The room was outstanding, managed to get parked also on the car park although it is small. Around five minutes walk to York Minster. Breakfast was simply outstanding and service even better, all staff helpful and friendly. I am a big fella so the bed was a little on the small side for me personally but really comfy.

Nice hotel with friendly staff and fantastic food. Great location and easy to park, however the charge for this could be a little cheaper considering we are using the hotel.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location. Reception staff were lovely and very helpful. Enjoyed drinks and food in the bar area, delicious and good value. The room was very comfortable and lovely and warm. Excellent shower.

Stunning hotel
Wonderful hotel, period property in lovely settings very close to York Minster. 10 min flat walk. Cozy and warm, nice bar and superb breakfast . Will definitely come back next year.

Nice hotel in good location but.
Although hotel is within walking distance to York centre. Price of room is high for the small size and minimal facilities and no bath as shown in advertising photos. Woke on the first morning to ice cold water in both shower and sink, mentioned to reception. Lots of items on-line bar menu that are no longer available. Staff very friendly and helpfull.

We stayed for 2 nights in one of the superior doubles (bunker room) and it was lovely. There aren’t any windows but we didn’t mind this so much as have stayed in inside cabins on a cruise but not suited to all, was fine for a couple of nights. Was very clean and unique and the shower was incredible. Staff at reception were friendly. You have to request if you want the room freshened up rather than having maid service daily but was ok for us. Amazing location, straight 10 minute walk down the street to the minster and an extra 5 minutes to the shambles. Plenty of pubs and cafes and shops near. Would stay again and was great value for money.
