Beech Hill Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Asked for a ground floor room when i noticed no lifts as my wife has trouble with stairs now. Was given a beautiful ground floor room on same level as bar/restaurant. The room had a massive picture window with unbeatable view of lake. Same view from bar/restaurant which also has outside deck area. The pool area was great but had to tackle several flights of stairs. Breakfast good and had evening meals twice in the restaurant also good. Friendly/helpful staff."
Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa

"Whilst the hotel bills itself as 4* in our view it's living on past glories. Our Delux room had only a velux roof window which could only be opened by standing on a chair so you had a better view of the sky only. At breakfast the only coffee choice was a cafetiere so espresso or latte luxury was not an option. The should rename it a Velux room, definitely not a Delux room"
Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa

"We were returning customers to Low wood bay @ the winander club. We were slightly disappointed to see that spa access was no longer included in Winander rooms but it is a beautiful spa, so we paid the extra £140. We were disappointed to find out if you wanted to borrow some slippers for the spa, they were also chargeable now. And on check out I was very shocked to see they were also now charging £12 per day to park your car if you hadn’t booked directly with them. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a hotel that has charged you to use their car park, particularly after spending over £1000 on our stay. We left feeling disappointed and will chose to stay at other hotels in the lakes going forward now."

"Amazing upgrade to superior double room at the front of the property with views of lake Windermere. Spa facilities excellent and love you can order drinks for around the pool. Breakfast amazing with top quality produce. Love this hotel and it never disappoints."

"This is a beautiful hotel set in amazing grounds, with staff who are so helpful and willing to please. The walks in the hotel grounds are stunning. I would have no hesitation in staying here again."

"Brilliant Hotel clean and staff very helpful. Comfortable bed and a peaceful hotel. Food excellent but if I had a bone to pick I could have done with vegetables with my steak instead of salad which came as standard but all in all I’d definately go back again it was a memorable stay."

"Wonderful big room. So cozy. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and little balcony overlooking the garden. It was very quiet and the breakfast was delicious and the room had lovely views of the garden. Easily walkable to town. "
