"As for the hotel part, room was clean and comfortable. Very impressed with the quality of materials and layout. A lot of options for drinks and dining. I guess on weekends they turn the pool area into a nightclub on the 4th floor. The people at the front desk make you aware of this and have ear plugs available as it goes until 2am. We requested to be out as far as possible. The club music was faint and didn't bother us. It may bother some people of there room was closer. "

"When booking in Sonora you must understand everything is vintage! The room was updated and clean aand I felt safe in the area. We have stayed at other hotels in the area and will not return to any of them. I will book again with Hotel Lumberjack. "

"We had to cancel our reservation the day before due to family care conflict. We were devastated but figured our plans were shot. Long story short we were able to proceed with our concert and although we canceled within the 24hr window, the Gateway hotel refunded us our original canceled reservation, booked us another room with no hassle at all. Our first time staying here and from setting, to staff and room everything was top notch and clean/ inviting. The pool area/ jacuzzi were very nice and quiet. How the staff and property worked with us last minute was exceptional and much appreciated. My wife and I will 1000% be back, do yourself a favor and check out this Hotel and the surrounding shops. You won’t be disappointed! "

"This is a small charming historic hotel in Groveland owned and run by a local couple who are very helpful, super welcoming, and personable. Each room is a little different - quaint and much more fun than a boring hotel. The cozy lobby has a fridge for guests, a few tables as well as lounge seating. One can also sit on the balcony or spread out in back. Bed was comfortable, AC kept the room cool. We stayed two nights - very much enjoyed it and we will be back. Groveland is appr. 30 minutes to the park entry, not including any wait which varies by date/time and offered some dining choices and a food market. "
