Olmsted Point, named for Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of American landscape architecture, offers stunning views of Yosemite Valley and the back half of Ansel Adams' Half Dome. This turnout just off Tioga Road is a popular stop in Yosemite's high country, offering views of Tenaya Lake, Cloud's Rest, Half Dome and a handful of other granite grand slammers. An easy quarter-mile hike from the parking lot rises 100 feet in elevation before offering a breathtaking and unobscured view of the valley below.
