My room was very cozy and larger than I expected, walking distance to BBC beach. The staff was ver y nice and accommodating. In fact they offered to extend my check out time to accommodate me with my flight departing time. Which I appreciated very much

Relaxing place to stay.

This resort was excellent because it’s right by the most beautiful beach, it’s decor is dated but very clean so that makes up for it, security was tight even though it’s not really needed in Grenada as it’s a safe place. The staff are so nice and friendly, will stay again next year.

It has been a while but good to be back....

Stayed here a lot in the past but good to get back to this hotel. Service was great and I was really happy that staff were so friendly it felt that I was returning home.

On arrival we thought the hotel was abandoned as the long grass looked like it had not been cut for a month, with weeds everywhere. The GEM is shared with the adjoining hotel that features in all of the pictures. They are a bit blurred for a good reason as the place looks to be 40 years since a renovation, although a fresh slap of paint seems recent on some structures. We had 1 night in the GEM before being moved to the KALINAGO and just as well as the GEM had no beach views and was musty with heavily worn and damaged interiors that looked 30 years old. The A/C was good but only worked in the bedrooms. The KALINAGO was dated but clean and spacious with good views and A/C. The beach bar area had exposed PVC drainage piping and picnic table seats. The pool looked cloudy and uninviting to swim in, but the ocean and beach were great and picturesque.

Gem is an older property but kept well maintained and clean. BBC beach is one of Grenada's finest beaches so the location is perfect. We enjoyed breakfasts and suppers at Sur la mar during our stay. And the staff need a special mention....good people with great attitudes and smiles. Desline will make you a delicious cocktail and you can't help but like her.

It is right on one of the prettiest and calm est beaches on the island. Units are available with ocean views. It is kept clean, but is quite dated. To me it has a 1950's island vibe which is appealing and refreshing. If you are looking for high end luxury, this is not for you. But it is quite charming, the staff are genuine and friendly and the location cant be beat.

The property looks as though it is from the Colonial era, and has not been maintained since that time It's location is what sells, not the property. The apartment was not maintained. The beds were old and rotting.The bedding, looked and felt like someone 's used sheets and pillows, three and a half black out curtains, dresser drawers that didn't close,horrible bathroom horrible beach chairs.Apartment 15 at the GEM is HORRIBLE! GRENADA is BEAUTIFUL!

Relaxed safe place to stay

Ample space, safe and clean. The bedroom is air conditioned but the sitting area is not. Great balcony with view. Very helpful staff. Eat at LA Plywood right across. Great food. Don't bother with the hotel restaurant. The beach in front is good. You can walk to Grand Anse Beach in 20 min. As well as a grocery. If you are picky about staying in places that are like the Raddison, don't come here. But we thought it was great. Night guard on the property. Quiet too.

It was practically on a lovely beach, staff are very helpful and the place is very quiet and has a homely atmosphere. Could not benefit from the upgrade offered as I needed a kitchenette to use because of my health problems and their sister property does not offer one. Second time visiting. The kitchen inventory needs to be updated however, add larger bowls, mug and perhaps a blender. Kudos to Kizzy and Lorraine who quickly got us settled in although we were early! 😊
