"Great view with snowcapped mountain plus great service and breakfast. It is in the middle station from Grindelwald to First where you can go trekking. We love the flower trails. Just you have to add on your budget for the cable from Grindelwald to First round trip of CHF 57 for 2 adults with Swiss Pass(children aged below 16 free if travel with parent). This saves time if time is limited for you. Option is to walk from Grindelwald to hotel and from hotel to First but it takes time."

"Das Hotel ist eine Melkkuh. Es findet wenig Unterhalt statt und die Reparaturen sind eine Bastlerei. Dafür wird ordentlich abkassiert. Bei mindestens einem Notausgang fehlte der Schlüssel in der roten Box und somit wären wir im Falle eines Brandes stecken geblieben. Die Brötchen beim Frühstück sind vom Vortag. Der Kaffee schmeckte nicht. Im türkischen Bad ist das Licht kaputt (also sehr Dunkel drin) und das Hotel weiss Bescheid. Auch der Geruch im türkischen Bad war leider nicht besonders gut....

"We spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved our balcony room with a view of the lake. Couldn't stop taking pics from it. Grounds are excellent and well maintained. Breakfast was good, but the same each day. Two things we'd suggest though, pillows were feathered and had no substance (had to ask for additional) and no lotion in the bathroom. These are minor things compared to how much we loved the setting. Would highly recommend."

"The decor was the most vintage chic we’d ever seen . The views from the hotel room were breathtaking. But !!!! THE BREAKFAST IS BY FAR THE BEST THING EVER. The freshest most delicious bread, fruits, yogurt station , eggs and bacon , lox all types of cheese and coffee with a delicious cappuccino. . . Perfect way to get the day started and hike ."

However, we came at a time where the staff was on spring break so we had to go to another local hotel nearby for any sort of help/check in or out we needed. "The hotel staff were very friendly. Our room was on the 4th floor. It was large with two rooms, a table and four chairs. Tv in each room . The room was clean and tidy. There were two doors out onto the balcony which has most beautiful Mountain View. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, the location was slightly uphill and close to the shops, restaurants and only a short walk to the train station.
