"The rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel is close to Walking Street, but it is not close to the beach. It is near the pier, where you can also rent e-bikes. The staff at Pier Eco are very kind and helpful."

"The staff are absolutely fantastic and they made everything accessible to us. The high hills were a bit challenging but we got used to it but it did limit our night time fun knowing we had to walk up a steep incline. Other than that we had an amazing stay! "

"Amazing stay! Gorgeous property with clean rooms and the comfiest beds! Breakfast was great and same with dinner! Staff was the sweetest and ensured we were all set to go with anything we needed. We would love to make it back here, it was a perfect little escape from the crowded areas of Phi Phi. "

"Room is basic but comfortable- the location is excellent - great restaurant and really good pool. Easy access to boats for tours / beaches (recommend long beach). Very friendly staff."

"Great room. Great view of the bay from the main restaurant. Pool was not in a good shape though. It’s far but shuttle services is on point. And easy. "

"U Rip needs some up keeping around the property and especially the pool. It’s nice and quiet where this hotel is located and away from the crazy nightlife but within walking distance so you can go and check it out but come back to quietness. They didn’t have any beach loungers which would have been nice. The all inclusive breakfast is very limited. "

"We have stayed here three times now and it never disappoints. The property is incredible in so many ways. The villas and the views, the beautiful beach and snorkelling, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. We will be back again!"
"We had a wonderful week at Layana leading up to our marriage at the end of our stay.
Shout out to Gae who I communicated with on a regular basis prior to our trip and during. She was more than pleasant and helped organize the perfect wedding. Nothing was a problem or too much of an ask. Frank, the manager, was our master of ceremonies. He was dressed in an all white captain suit and delivered a beautiful script.
There was a little hiccup the day prior to our wedding regarding preparation but Gae and my makeup artist Way, saved the day with amazing help and service.
The resort is quiet and serene. The food was delicious and the pool and beach amazing. They have special dinners daily as well as à la carte and once a week they have a white evening, cocktails on beach. One of the activities we went on was a day trip picnic on a longboat to a small island. Saw beautiful scenery, ate great food, swam in warm clear water and had an opportunity to stop and feed monkeys. We had done an 4 island tour from Krabi but wished that would have waited and did the Layana cruise instead. They pick you up on beach in front of hotel and have a lovely boat! Worth the extra cost as our tour was crowded and not that enjoyable!
I could go on and on but in the end it was a memorable experience that will be remembered. "
"PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING.
My stay was an absolute nightmare. From the moment I arrived, the hotel looked NOTHING like the pictures. The beach itself is beautiful, but the property is old, dirty, and poorly maintained. The room smelled like sewage - I agree with other reviewers who have described it as "staying in Alcatraz."
I arrived at my room after dinner to find a cockroach inside. Within 20 minutes, a second (huge) cockroach appeared. For context, I have a deep-rooted phobia of cockroaches. I tried to seek help, but the front desk was closed (they DO NOT offer 24h service), so the staff had to come from home to address the issue. I was hyperventilating (if I could choose not to have this phobia, I certainly would, but alas, here I am). I wanted to leave right away and book alternative accommodation nearby, to which the staff did not respond well.
I was engaged in a hostile negotiation for 90 minutes. At one point, I was physically inside a room with two of the staff standing in front of the door - and it certainly did not feel as though I was free to leave. They staunchly refused to agree to a refund, despite Expedia Customer Service attempting to contact them to process it. After 1 1/2 hrs of mental manipulation, I was coerced into accepting an alternative room, which they sprayed with insecticide. I did not sleep, and my stay at this beautiful beach was ruined by this wretched hotel.
This hotel cannot continue to exist in its current state. Please don't book this!"
"The resort is beautiful. Everything from the rooms, the grounds, the pool, and the beachfront location. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was great, and everywhere was spotless.
We would definitely return!"

"The hotel is excellent value for money - Great rooms, big and well maintained pool, nice spa/massage parlor (which is a little more expensive than the local norm) and the beach on our doorstep. Breakfast is varied and good quality. The staff speak very good English at the reception and are very helpful.
On the quieter side of the island, perfect if that’s what you are looking for. The main pier for speedboats is about 40 mins away (if you are interested in day trips). The local beach is really fantastic - clean, nice sand, great water (good for kids) and beautiful sunsets. If you want nightlife and shops, the closest is 15 mins away at Khlong Nin. "
"We asked on the first day of our 3 day stay if the could fix the shower. They shower never got fixed. Then we could smell the septic system (poop smell) all day long in the room. we needed up closing the door to the bathroom and running the fan all day, everyday while there. I would not recommend."
