The Lighthouse is excellent for a one-night stay-over before or after a Keflavik flight. It is about 14 minutes by car to the airport. It is in a very quiet area at the end of the Gardur peninsula. If the hotel restaurant is fully booked, as it was when we stayed, there is another within walking distance (wild and windy weather notwithstanding) - the Rostin. Unfortunately, it closes at 8 so if you're arriving later be sure to have a hotel restaurant reservation. There is nothing else for...

I stayed at the beginning and the end of a two week trip. The accommodation was basic but clean with shower rooms shared down the corridor but always available and clean. What I would commend most of all is the helpfulness of the staff. It was the man on reception who reminded me to book the free transport to the airport and when I asked whether there was any chance of breakfast at about 5:30 he said I could have it at 3:30 if I wanted. He also ran me and my friends to a local restaurant...

The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking a large meal for four. There is a supermarket within a 20 minute drive and a few restaurants. The lodge itself was lovely and warm and ideal for a quiet evening trying to see the northern lights. It was perfect for our last two nights in Iceland as it's 30 mins from the Blue Lagoon and 13 minutes to the airport. Will definitely look to stay here on our next trip to Iceland.

The cutest little cottage in such stunning natural landscape! the cottage itself had really modern interiors and stylish Scandi decor. Plus they had Sóley products in the bathroom, which was a nice touch. Check-in is really easy if you follow the instructions. Also, there is a main building, if you want to meet other folks, use the kitchen, have a drink, or make some breakfast in the morning. I didn’t use the hot tubs (“hot pots” in Iceland) but they looked gorgeous. Will definitely book here...

Lovely hotel made even better with the beautiful staff. Agnes (the housekeeping manager) went out of her way to resolve some issues we had with pre-booked tour companies. She made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived until we left. I would definitely recommend this hotel, because holidays are all about people and nice people make nice memories, which make you want to go again. Area of the hotel is great about 15 mins in a taxi from the airport, just by the sea and close to the Blue...
