"We had a nice stay at spice bay for our last night in St Lucia. The apartment was clean and functional with a huge veranda overlooking the bay. We had the place to ourselves and had a lovely morning by the pool before going to the airport. The only drawback here is there isn’t much in the area. Nicer beaches are at least a 30 min drive away, most attractions about an hour, and there isn’t much around in terms of restaurants either. The apartment has a kitchen though so one could easily just cook...

Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort
10/10 Excellent
"We booked a luxury cottage and could not have been happier. The room was spotless and the view was amazing. Our plunge pool was fabulous and we used it every day. The staff make this resort. They are wonderful. The view from the beach is stunning and the water was clear and warm. Also, be sure to check out the Pickleball and tennis courts and the gym because they are great. We were also very happy with food in all of the restaurants We will definitely be back. "
"Resort review
The good: The place definitely had vacation vibes! Beautiful. Great beach, great pool.
The bad: Staff isn’t as accommodating or friendly as I was expecting. Often rude, especially bartenders. (Servers are mostly good.)
We had the all inclusive package and they gave us a purple hand band to wear during dining so they knew our meals & drinks are covered already. Yet, we STILL got a bill for each order!!! It’s so annoying. Bands are pointless.
The all-inclusive option is definite not worth it. It didn’t include room service.
If you’re gonna tip, tip in cash, always. Because the credit card tip doesn’t actually go to the servers. (Servers told us this.)
The hot tub water is never actually hot. Hot tub was not working most of the time and we kept asking for it to be fixed.
Our room key almost never worked. We kept asking for it to be fixed. They’d promise they’ll fix it “today,” but nothing. We kept needing to have staff open our door for us. My key didn’t work even on my last day.
They tried to compensate us for our inconvenience by offering us a free meal at a local restaurant or a 30-minute massage. So they tried - but the troubles remained.
The food was not good at all. It’s always a buffet for dinner (& btw, when it’s not buffet, if you eat anything from the buffet like the dessert & soups - even just the soup - it costs $40), and it wasn’t satisfying at all.
Prices are for some reason in USD.
Overall, NOT recommended, honestly."
Royalton Saint Lucia, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort
8/10 Good
"The amenities and the property itself was beautiful. We had some trouble with our first room and Tashael our Expedia representative on the property made our experience seamless and helped with the switch of our room. She made all of our dinner reservations and really outdid herself with helping us out every which way. Tashael is the person that made our experience at the Royalton the best."
"This place is such a hidden gem. The staff is so very friendly and helpful. Each of the rooms is in their own little cabin, and ours was very tastefully decorated. This resort is close to lots of things to do. And easy drive into town for dinner, to Gros Piton for a hike or to Sugar Beach for a dip. The resort restaurant is delicious, and we could have eaten all of our meals here."
"First and foremost, the staff was amazing. The resort, although a little outdated, provided a wonderful getaway. The resort does not have beach access, but you have a clear view of the ocean from the resort. Daily meals were hot and delicious with a wide variety of items to choose from. Daily scheduled activities were fun."
"The main building of the property including the rooms and the dining room and bar were kept very clean. The staff members were generally friendly. Special thanks to Garfield for arranging our catamaran tour with Sea Spray Cruises and Vanessa in the dining room for her consistently cheery service. We purchased the all inclusive plan and found the food to be very good. The beach was a short walk away and stores and restaurants were nearby. Nice, locally owned boutique resort."

10/10 Excellent
"The view from our room of the beach and ocean was good. The staff was very hospitable, competent and gracious. We enjoyed everything about the resort except a couple of restaurants had less than outstanding food. The majority of restaurant options were very good."
