"We spent seven full nights at Portofino and it was truly serene. Three things stood out: 1) The staff. Our servers E and A were truly amazing. Sometimes there was a language barrier, but it was more entertaining than a negative. As a US resident visiting a foreign country I don't expect our hosts to automatically speak english and it was actually more authentic to wade through some back and forth. "En muy mal estado las instalaciones, no se ve como en las fotos, el aire acondicionado no sirve, ningún enchufe servía, no pudimos cargar los celulares, las sábanas super sucias, nos tuvimos que salir y buscar otro lugar donde quedarnos, perdimos ese dinero, que es mucho para lo que ofrece este lugar. No lleguen aquí, no lo recomendamos para nada, muy mal servicio y mala experiencia 😡"

"Limited dining options but quick 100 peso taxi into centro. Built against a cliff so the inherent many stairs are difficult for older or non-fit people. Makes for a good workout. Beach access very good. Staff on the grounds, restaurant, and reception could not be better."
