Sherry Frontenac Oceanfront Hotel

"Room was clean but hotel very old and not updated. The first day there was No toilet paper in the restroom I had to call twice and wait more than 1 hour. Bath is peeling, shower head clogged with limescale. Had a room with a balcony and ocean view but balcony door doesn’t close properly (too old and twisted) so you hear everything going outside very hard to sleep . Breakfast is very poor: toast, milk and cereals, cheese slices and salami, and juices. For eggs or omelette you have to pay extra. Wifi signal poor and intermittent all over the place. Service room people are kind .

Catalina Hotel & Beach Club

"Our Miami trip itself was wonderful, but unfortunately our experience at Catalina Hotel & Beach Club was extremely disappointing.
We stayed in a two queen poolside room from Sunday through Wednesday and ultimately checked out one day early due to several serious cleanliness, maintenance, and safety concerns.
When we arrived, the room was not properly cleaned and we even found trash underneath the beds. Several outlets in the room were not functioning and the iron also did not work. The bathroom had a noticeable sewage odor when using the sink, and the room did not include a safe for belongings.
There were also concerning safety issues with the room itself. The door had no peephole and no security latch, which made us uncomfortable from a safety standpoint.
Basic amenities were lacking as well. We initially had no towels upon arrival and had to locate staff ourselves to obtain them. WiFi was extremely unreliable during the stay.
The overall property condition was also disappointing. The elevator was out of service for the entire duration of our stay, hallway carpets were visibly dirty, and the rooftop pool pillows were filthy. Doors throughout the property slam very loudly and the hallways are not soundproof, so noise from staff and other guests was constant.
The front desk staff did come to inspect the room after we reported the issues and refunded our resort fee, which we appreciated. We ultimately escalated the matter through Expedia, who refunded the unused night."

"Short staff: longer wait times for food, drinks, day beds. I paid ahead of time for my trip via Expedia, hotel staff did not communicate with Expedia and attempted to charge me a second time. "

Kenmore Village Hotel, South Beach

"They have one elevator that doesn’t work, we stayed 4 nights on the fourth floor and had to walk up the entire trip. They didn’t have any ice machines that worked, we had to walk down to get a little ice from the bar. They don’t have do not disturb cards for any of the rooms. We paid extra for a balcony and it overlooked the police station. We couldn’t take our car out of the $45 a night parking because the police blocked off the street for days. They have no intention of repairing their elevator, worst hotel ever. "

"Had a fantastic room with a large balcony overlooking the pool area. Staff was helpful, right in the center of the Art Deco district and the hotel boasts a rich history. Highly recommend."

"It was clean. Very outdated, no microwave in the room only in the basement which was a bit creepy, the laundry room is also there. We spent close to $200 on the breakfast buffet and it’s literally like the free breakfasts they give at other hotels. Pool was small and outdated. I love the chill area behind the pool with games. "
