A wonderful property up in the valley, when all the day trippers go home you feel like you have the place to yourself

Amazing location with magnificent views, service was excellent and very accommodating staff who looked after us well. The dinner and breakfast was quality! Free coffee, wine and desserts at the lobby was a nice touch.

Stayed at the Ohanabo Hokkaikan for two nights, and when we arrived, we were greeted by the sweetest people. They took our luggage to our room whilst we were sightseeing as we arrived early, and upon returning they brought us tea and sweets to welcome us back. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is clean, complete, and comfortable. Additionally, the facilities are exemplary including the private onsen. My whole stay in this property is very relaxing.

After some long days sightseeing in Japan it was great to be able to unwind in a little piece of history and tranquility, there can be nothing more relaxing than your own home apart from a night in the Toshiharu Ryokan.

Worth to stay for a few days as experience

Stayed for 4 nights on holiday with late teenage family . The ryokan was superb. Traditional Japanese experience with a super kind attentive atmosphere from a family run business . It may not be for everyone but we loved it !

Hotel staff were so friendly and nice to us all, with the limited english skills they had they still made conversation with us and were always smiling and helping us out. The breakfasts were delicious, an amazing sample of traditional Japanese cuisine. Unfortunately we weren’t able to experience their dinner since we did not book three days in advance but I’m sure it would have been just as nice.
