"The property was clean. The room bathroom door would not latch so it never closed. The room from the bathroom area to the bedroom did not close. It only went 3/4 of the way. We were not too concerned as we only spent a little time in the room. Our 2nd room there was no safety latch. Pool area was clean and nice. General buffet area was always clean, nice, lots of variety of food and the staff here were the best. The rest of the service especially in all the bars was super poor. It seemed like it was a chore to be at work. No acknowledgment of your presence, whether you tip or not. The game staff were good too."

"Here’s a polished review you can post: We recently stayed at the Riu Palace Jamaica in Montego Bay. Overall, our stay was nice, and the staff was generally friendly and accommodating. One thing that was disappointing was that when we booked, it was advertised that we would have access to the two neighboring Riu properties. However, upon arrival, we learned that there were limitations on what areas and amenities we could actually use. This was not clearly communicated beforehand and was a bit frustrating. To be honest, after seeing the neighboring Riu Montego Bay property, we wish we had booked there instead. While we were not able to see every room, the property itself appeared more updated, cleaner, and closer to the overall atmosphere and aesthetic we were looking for. The food was another area where we felt improvements could be made. If you eat at the main dining hall, expect to see many of the same options day after day. There wasn’t a lot of variety, which became repetitive during our stay. That said, we still enjoyed ourselves and made the best of our trip. The beautiful location, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly staff helped make our vacation enjoyable despite some of the drawbacks."

"They have roaches… It’s not completely infested but I saw 3 roaches during my five night stay. The rooms were slightly outdated but if they get those roaches under control this resort would get a better review. The food was decent. The entertainment was great. The layout of the property was great. It’s a well balanced all inclusive resort. Ownership should invest in renovations and pest control. Then it would be at least a 9/10"
