Wyndham Extra Holidays hotels in Kauai

"The only positive part of this hotel was the staff. Every employee was extremely kind, professional, and attentive throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was a huge disappointment. The property was under heavy construction, but this was never properly communicated before booking. Entire areas were being remodeled, including the lobby, hallways, and the floor above our room. The building layout became a complete maze due to temporary detours, and even other guests were constantly confused trying to find their rooms. Although our room was clean, the condition of the property was shocking for the price being charged. The furniture was outdated and damaged, lamps were heavily rusted, the safe did not work upon arrival, one elevator was out of service our entire 6-night stay, and the other leaked water from the ceiling whenever it rained. There were also industrial dehumidifier machines left in the hallway outside our room the entire time. What bothered us most was seeing renovated rooms nearby while guests were still being placed in clearly deteriorated rooms during active construction. If the hotel is still undergoing major renovations, guests should be informed before booking and allowed to decide if they are comfortable staying there. Another misleading aspect was the “beachfront” advertising. The beach behind the hotel is not swimmable due to extremely rough waves, rocks, and dangerous conditions, something that is never clearly explained in the hotel photos"

"I loved everything about the Makai Club Resort!! The layout, the completely stocked kitchen, the comfortable bed… The pool area was great… it made it hard to want to leave the resort, but as tourists it was a great place to return to at the end of the day and make our own dinner & go sit in the sauna. I recommend staying there most definitely!"

"We had breakfast there. Service was a little slow. The food was good. We had drinks at the Mamahune’s Tiki bar. Drinks were good. The location right on the ocean was wonderful. "

"Completely enjoyed our stay at the Koa’Kea resort. The location is breathtaking, right on the beach. We loved the daily yoga classes to help kickstart our days. We appreciate the smaller scale of the resort, it did not feel overwhelming like a big resort. Thank to all the guests services staff for making our first time in Kauai, feel like a true relaxing vacation. "

"I would like to preface this by saying this was a last minute booking as our flight was cancelled twice and we were stranded at the airport with a toddler. The staff was AMAZING. Checked us in was super helpful and nice. We had an issue getting back to the airport and the manager personally woke to at 4 AM and drove us to the airport our literal like savor. Can’t recommend them more. Al so they had an excellent assortment of teas and coffee, even some coffee we paid good money to bring home!! We didn’t stay for breakfast but imagine it to be of the same quality - excellent!"

"Rented the “renovated” king ocean view room. There was nothing renovated about it. Old, stained, furniture. Black mold. Everything is an extra on this resort, everything. Staff was very nice. His was my first experience at Sheraton. It will probably be the last. Love Kauai and the people, best island in the chain! We come here often."

"The resort is self is old, but the location is awesome and most of the people that work. There are very friendly except for one gentleman who is extremely rude. They really need to have their rooms a little bit cleaner."
