"Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of food available at breakfast and it was freshly prepared. The hotel is in a lovely location by Iffley Lock on the Thames. It offers pleasant walks in the meadows and beside the river into Oxford."

"The room was very comfortable and clean. Lovely big shower. The hotel was very nice and again very clean. Great bar. As you walk in to the reception it is very grand like walking into a beautiful Manor House. Breakfast was very nice with plenty to choose from. The problem I had was it said in the booking email they check in was 2pm. It isn’t it’s 3pm . So be careful."

The hotel is very large and set in its own grounds and gardens. For my stay it was very quiet - I can't comment on when it is full and busy. However, my stay was during the latest heatwave and my bedroom was without air conditioning and uncomfortably hot. "I had just a single room but it was pleasantly spacious after other BnB places recently, though others admittedly, were in town locations."

There was a (small) lift but even with a lift we still had few steps up & down to get to our room so not a problem for us but less abled/non ambient may not have been able to enjoy their stay.
