We’ve just spent a week at Hôtel Au Relais Saint Maurice, and it was a real highlight of our holiday. The hotel is a beautiful old house, full of character and history stretching back hundreds of years. Maurice, the owner, is absolutely dedicated to the place and to his guests – nothing is too much trouble, and his care shows in every detail. We had an absoloutely wonderful two night stay with our toddler at Cave Auger. The upstairs family apartment was perfect for us , and we were particularly grateful for the excellent air con during one of the heatwaves earlier this year. The pool was great - warm and immaculately clean.
Stéphane was the most welcoming host - and we particularly enjoyed the dinner on the terrace that was all local produce, and it came with our own little barrel of delicious wine. Breakfast similarly...

Absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed our time at Chateau de Candes. Bertrand and Sam went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Running this place is not easy but the family are doing their absolute best as custodians. They are fully dedicated and committed to making Chateau de Candes a success. Merci Bertrand et Sam.
