The pictures on the website do not match in person. The room was too small and no amenities- no toilet paper, no soap, fridge not working, no cloak hanger. The room was not ready even though paid for early check in. The early check in was misleading and asked to pay extra payment on arrival. The hotel room is sub standard and health and safety risk. The room has poor lighting and too hot and expensive cost for the room. I would not even dare recommend this hotel. This is a scam.
£30 for early check in yet no code was issued until after 4pm. Holiday from hell

It was understandable when we tried to cancel that the reservation was non-refundable. The irritation came in when after attempting to cancel, we continued to get check in information. And then, with that information, we found out there would have been more fees and additional requirements that were not in the listing. Again, after cancelling with Expedia, we received WhatsApp communication to checkin. Then received emails asking how was our stay. After trying to cancel, not checking in and not checking out. Poor experience with Expedia and the X Hotel.
After not having a key for our room, we waited 4 hours for locksmith to find it was a double and not twin as booked. Older siblings sharing a room. Would not give us alternative room so got a 3 hour train home. Ruined our weekend
Didn't look like the pictures online. Peeling wallpaper, general unkempt vibe to the room, and also the room seemed to be on a slope. The door to our room wouldn't fully close. Awkward way of getting in and out of the room (the keys were tied to the door), facilities listed on the ad for the hotel just straight up weren't there. The view from the window was just a blank wall.
The man at reception was very friendly and helpful though so they're doing something right.
I would not stay again as it was very misleading on the website. The room is not what was advertised so disappointed , No reception or staff member to speak to. The beds so uncomfortable to asleep on. Bedsheets wasn’t clean. I had ridiculous noise levels during the night which caused lots of unpleasant noise my children can’t falling asleep well.
Absolutely terrible experience would stay away from this hotel very unprofessional turned up to no codes for doors then told our room wasn’t clean after waiting an hour we then got put into the room room that also wasn’t cleaned ! Then had to wait two hours for correct room to be cleaned come back and the staff told us we haven’t payed after realising they were mistaken our room was not ready till 11pm at night but had no choice at that time also rooms are nothing like images and dirty only one staff who was very very unprofessional

Horrendous! I left and checked out within half an hour! Check in was terrible via whattsapp, key code to private bathroom outside did not work so no acces to water or toilet. No communication available with hotel.. they still have not replied almost 24 hrs later! Will be chasing for a refund ... had to book another hotel for our night away.
Carpet had stains, tv remote had chewing gum stuck to it and was greasy, bed sheets were clean but that was about it. Overall stay was quite uncomfortable to be honest but convieniant to the city centre.
Housekeeping took all my heart and diabetes drugs, clothes, and electrical items. I have tried to get hotel to return them, but they haven not. I booked and paid for two nights, yet they emptied my room after one night.
Appalling lack of communication and no concern. Had to text as no-one on site.. I will now consider contacting the pilice.

Paid for arriving early. But still wasn’t let in. Message the office no response. Saw staff entered property so then was able to talk to her. If o hadn’t of seen her I sure I wouldn’t have be able to stay.
The room Hadn’t been cleaned from previous visitors.
Room in very poor and dangerous conditions.
Bathroom cabinet door was not being held by any screw. Which then led to the cabinet door, falling onto my 11-year-old son’s head now has a cut was bleeding. Told the reception lady sitting in the hallway. She was very blunt. Came into the room and just took the cabinet. No apology nothing!
Maybe she was having a bad day.
I would rather stay in my car.
Honestly waste of every penny.
I recently stayed at X Hotel in Brighton, and while there were some initial issues with both rooms, the team was incredibly helpful and proactive in resolving them. They upgraded me to a fantastic suite and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
The staff’s professionalism and commitment to excellent customer service really stood out, and I truly appreciate their efforts. Thank you for turning things around so quickly—I would happily stay here again!

Luckily, I read the reviews after booking. If I'd read them and saw the Hotels.com rating before, I might not have booked. Don't be put off, having faith and following the instructions led me to a lovely room loyally reflecting the thumbnail photo
