"A quirky hotel - very old in parts plus newer extension. We had a spacious bedroom with 2 armchairs and a very comfortable bed. A modern bathroom, but with little shelf space to put toiletries or toothbrushes (a tumbler, perhaps?). Some complimentary toiletries provided. We booked to eat in the restaurant each night and were not disappointed with the quality or quantity of the dishes. Breakfast was cooked to order. "Our room was Yew and Eye, one of the newly built cabins in the garden of this historic inn with a twist. The design is like nothing we’ve ever seen before with surprises every way you look. The room itself has human eyeballs as a decorative theme which was fascinating and amusing. The standard double bed was extremely comfortable, there was plenty of useful storage and good ventilation. "The George hotel in Rye offers a charming stay with a central location and helpful staff. The comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast were definite highlights. Its bar is also great, boasting a fantastic atmosphere. However, our (entry level) room was a little on the small side.
