Yumoto Packages (Flight + Hotel)

We really appreciated early check in. We were able to check in at 1pm rather than 5pm. Remote check in and out. There were welcome gifts including bottled water for each person for each day of our stay, plus some chips and snacks. That was a lovely touch. The host is very quick to respond. The apartment is close to the train station and only 10 mins from Haneda Airport. We stayed here as we had an early flight out at 6.55 am. However, this was too early for us to catch the train so we ended up paying about $80 AUD for an UBER to the airport which was quite pricey. The apartment itself is very spacious and clean. Three bedrooms, two with 2 double beds and the third has 2 singles. There is a large kitchen, living room and dining room. You need to climb a flight of stairs to access the apartment. There is a washer and dryer which was very convenient. This area felt much different to the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku and Shibuya. It is an area where local Japanese live so you can experience their daily lives. A few places to eat nearby, a big supermarket, 7 Eleven. We enjoyed our time here.

The hotel was brand new, with lovely wooden floors and decor. Check in was easy and welcoming and location is close to shops, restaurants and Ueno station. The room is a large open space (we had three people in the flower room). There was also a portable cooking hob if you need to do simple cooking. We thought it was great value for the busy season we were in Tokyo. There wasn’t much to fault, only one minor things which may have made the stay even better- another option for pillow (although this may have been available, and I just didn’t ask).

The lounge amenities were excellent. The food and beverage offerings were abundant and of high quality. We were underwhelmed by our accommodations. We booked a Familia Suite B at considerable expense to discover that it was not a true suite at all; it was just one larger room with a kitchen area. It was disappointing. The second thing we disliked was the misleading so called free drink coupons they provided for their Sky Lounge. When we went to use them it turned out there was a 1000 yen per person charge to sit up there. We felt duped.

Our initial reaction was that the property was smaller than it appeared in the images, but once we settled in, we enjoyed our stay. The location is great — close to subway and shopping. The washing machine and the in-shower drying are really convenient. The kitchen also has a stovetop, microwave and a large fridge. We would book this place again next time we visit the Tokyo area.

Breakfast was awesome! Better than any buffet breakfasts i’ve had in other countries! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean Edo style rooms are absolutely sooo awesome!
