"I booked to stay one night with a chance I might need a second night. Room was a separate wooden chalet. Door very difficult to open. Small bathroom with shower a bit difficult to access unless you have long legs. Mirror near toilet not easy to see. Glad I didn’t need to make up. "Does what it says on the tin. A no frills property but equally very comfortable, clean and helpful friendly staff. Despite the room being above a pub I was not disturbed by noise as I went to bed each night. Breakfast very good with a good selection."

"The room was suitable for our short stay, however with such lovely expanse of grounds it was therefore unfortunate that the view from our room was a 12foot high brick wall. Despite there being no air conditioning the room had a patio door which once open cooled the room. Upon request the hotel provided a fridge for my elderly mothers insulin, unfortunately the fridge was faulty and froze the insulin which caused a unplanned medical issue. "I was able to check in online before I arrived at The Kicking Dickey. The staff were very helpful and friendly along with the pub which I thought was very welcoming. My room was at the rear of the property so away from any noise. The room itself was comfortable and well maintained, I think it might of been a converted stable. Nice functional bathroom with a shower and a very comfortable single bed. Lots of free parking outside the property. All in all well worth a stay."

"Check in was great, nice & easy and the room was ready straight away. The room was a twin, a great size but very tired. The carpet could do with changing and the shower sealant definitely needs re-doing as it was black in areas. Breakfast was plentiful, could have been warmer but nothing too drastic. "The rooms aren't actually in/ above the pub, there is a separate building out the back with the rooms. The building isn't anywhere near as attractive at the pub! I was a little disappointed as it was a birthday present to go to The Henry Moore Foundation, dinner and stay over. The rooms are nice, we had a king room and the bed was huge and comfy- no complaints about the rooms themselves, other than they were very hot. I would stay again if in the area, but not as a special occasion."
