"We stayed in a King Suite and had a very nice experience overall. The room was spacious, and we enjoyed the view facing the front of the building. The staff were always welcoming whenever we came in, and it was a nice touch that they remembered us. The valet service was top-notch, and we really appreciated that earplugs were provided to help with the street noise, as passing cars could be quite loud at night. We did notice a few tiny ants in the kitchen. Overall, the friendly service and excellent valet experience made our stay enjoyable!"

"Located in downtown on waterfront and has a beautiful garden out front. The street out front is noisy with traffic and partiers at night. They do have complimentary earplugs in the bathroom. Close to tourist attractions and restaurants. It would have been much better if they had some sort of breakfast room. Even just coffee , tea, yogurt and muffins. Room had bar fridge but no microwave. We thought the room cost was high for what we got."

"Terrific place to stay! I was not disappointed. I give this guesthouse 4.5 stars. Not 5... I did a late check in & I was given a code to enter. My key was left for me in an envelope. That was fine & dandy but on the envelope they could have written where to find my room - lower level or upper level, or main flr etc ...I went all over the house looking for it. No room numbers , & signage was inadequate. No staff on-site to ask like at hotels. There are no room numbers, just the names of the rooms on the doors of each suite. I admit this wasn't a huge inconvenience & my comfortable stay made up for it! My suite was extremely clean & renovated. The bed was so comfortable. Screens on the windows were promised in the details but my windows in my suite didn't have any. So I didn't feel comfortable opening the windows for fresh air. Thankfully it wasn't a hot summer's day ( no a/c in suite). The lounge area off the main floor is beautiful! Look forward to Breakfast (& a coffee bar) for a small fee. Lovely dining room. The lovely front garden gives the guesthouse curb appeal. The neighbourhood is treed & cared for homes line the street. I felt very safe. As for location, it's a short uber ride to the inner harbour attractions + Harbour air seaplane terminal . Also, located 1 min walk from a tourist attraction- a castle/estate house - you can walk the grounds for free or easily visit the interior during opening hrs. This guesthouse is a gem."

"I had a wonderful stay at the Amethyst Inn for the Victoria Marathon weekend. Staying in a historic Victorian mansion added such a unique and relaxing charm to the trip. One of my biggest worries when traveling for a race is logistics, but the free forecourt parking made parking completely seamless and stress-free. The daily breakfast throughout my stay was absolutely exceptional—delicious, hearty, and served beautifully. What truly blew me away, however, was the incredible staff. When I mentioned that I needed to fuel up well before their standard 7:30 AM breakfast hours on race morning, they went completely out of their way to accommodate me. They arranged an early breakfast option specifically so I could have a proper meal before heading down to the starting line. That level of thoughtful support made a massive difference in my race day experience. I highly recommend the Amethyst Inn to anyone visiting Victoria, especially athletes looking for a supportive, comfortable, and hospitable stay!"

"This spot is a real gem, especially if you prioritize location and economy. It's a great place to meet interesting people, and very central, and I appreciated the full kitchen, lockers, and in-room fridges. How to put this next part bluntly, but honestly: the area surrounding the hostel is safe, but you will see open intravenous drug use. People are struggling, and that fact is on display. If the windows are open, you may hear people screaming at all hours. This isn't the Hostel, it's just our current reality."
