We loved our stay here at Skybay Hotel! Our room was on the 14th floor overlooking the ocean and it was amazing! We will definitely try to stay here again, there was so much to do nearby and lots of restaurants/ cafes. 10/10 experience!

The staff were very nice and efficient. The hotel was very clean and well kept. The gym is wonderful! The hotel layout was well organized and made sense. The additional fees to use amenities, things being closed without warning, no in-room control of the AC, and wait times for elevators made it a very good stay instead of an excellent stay.

Lovely stay with mom

Satisfactory visit! Clean and new facilities with infinity pool access (comes with warm water in winter), in-building convenience store on top of the usual restaurants and cafes, and a skyview bar with amazing views and delicious cocktails. Comfortable room with in-suite iPad to order room service, ask for extra towels or water, and to do self checkout (very convenient). Easy access to the beach and a hugeeee lakeside park overseeing the beautiful mountain range. Close enough to the city. Parking was a little tight though, but manageable.

Mediocre, could be better.

It’s not the best option you can get in Gangneung. There’s no way that they should charge over 30 dollars for their breakfast. It’s super crowded, with little selection to choose from. The rooftop swimming pool is nice but the sauna is PACKED with the hotel’s membership holders. Seems like the hotel’s keeping up its financials by selling the membership tickets. Definitely need to upgrade its service and quality to upkeep its price and name value.

We came to Skybay with our Korean friend for a wonderful adventure. We opted for the lake view room, while our friends had the ocean view, both are spectacular. That night it was so cold, that we decided to stay in the hotel and had chicken and beer I the dining area, the chicken and beer were great, but it was sitting and chitchat with our friend, that’s priceless. This is a great hotel, but forewarn to book amenities in advance, like pool, sauna, breakfast, etc. these are not included with the room stay. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, we wish to thank the staff for courteous hospitality.

Found mini roach in room......

Found a mini cockroach near the curtains the minute i entered the room, assuming it got in from the balcony as i saw a few more crawling on the outside of the windows. Then i saw hair caught in the hair dryer when i was about to use it. Not to mention that the curtains were stained. Glad to see bedding very clean though and the ocean view from my room in the morning were probably the only upside of the stay.

A grand hotel with not so knowledgeable front desk clerk. I made a reservation for three, and the clerk was talking to me as if I made a reservation for two and brought an extra person at the last minute. She told me that "this time we will let go but next time there will be an extra charge." Anyway, the welcoming at the front desk didn’t go well as "welcoming" as it should be but I let it go. Since we didn’t get to the hotel until much later, we called the front desk to get some guidance for a place to eat. She said that every thing in the hotel is closed so if we need to get food, we had to go outside of the hotel. Once I came downstairs to explore the area, there were places in the hotel lobby that served food. I decided to try their dinner buffet following evening, located on the 20th floor of the hotel. I paid 120,000 korean won, about $110.00 per pserson. I was hoping to enjoy crab legs but was so disappointed with dry crab meat. Sashimi and sushi were good but galbee marinated beef were tough, and difficul to chew, Shrimp were overcooked. Definitely not worth spending that kind of money.

The location and view were great. However, it does not have 5 star hotel service and care. The water in swimming pool was not really clear and others were just similar to 3 to 4 star hotels in South Korea
