"We were visiting for a gig at Piece Hall and are so glad we chose to stay at this absolutely wonderful hotel on the outskirts of Halifax. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm, polite and helpful and this continued for the duration of our stay. As it was such a nice day, we sat in the beautiful garden and enjoyed drinks and food from the bar menu before heading into town for our concert. . Breakfast (extra) was also very good indeed. It’s not the cheapest hotel, and not the most fancy either, but really, everything was perfect, so the cost was more than worth it. Highly recommended."

"Staff were really polite on arrival, explained to us what time they would be open, serving drinks until which should be expected when we made the booking and we couldn’t really hear much upstairs anyway. There’s a nice folder within the rooms with a some information of the history or the building and local area. Myself and partner managed a full nights sleep in the bed, the rooms are of a washroom with toilet and shower, there’s also hot drink amenities in the room. There plenty of parking local to the hotel. It’s excellent value for money, ideal for short stays."

"Firstly location is great as very central - easy reach of train and bus stations, shops etc. Staff friendly and informative. Room was very clean and had a fan, tea and coffee. Furnishings are dated but serviceable. Bed was very comfortable with soft pillows. Bit of a rabbit warren getting to room up and down stairs. There is a lift but it's slow. Would stay again as such a great location."

"The rooms need updating badly. Tiles falling of the wall in the bathroom etc. The wardrobe was filthy and full of dust. Furniture needs updating too The beds are so comfy though. Staff always very helpful. Could do with someone to cart the bags upstairs as there are no lifts in the property. Helen"
