This was Frank Lloyd Wright’s first major public building and is still considered one of his greatest achievements.

Dinner at the Hemingway Bistro in the lower level of The Write Inn. Built in 1926, it was one of the places that Hemmingway hung out. This phylo pouch was filled with spinach, mushroom pate, roasted red peppers and goat cheese, set in a bed of garlic sauce and tied up with a leek. I scrimp on breakfast and lunch to feel less guilty about splurging on dinner. It was also a perfect end to my day of touring Frank Lloyd Wright homes in Oak Park.
