"Pool not open, never communicated prior to booking. Rooms are loud. Not impressed."

"I was disappointed to discover that this hotel also operates as a dormitory for the University of Tampa, which was not disclosed at the time of booking. As a result, the overall experience was far from what I expected from a hotel stay. Amenities such as the pool were essentially unusable due to overcrowding, and the lack of peace and quiet was a major issue. The hallways were consistently loud, with significant noise from late-night activity—often from 11:00 PM through 5:30 AM—making it difficult to rest. My stay, from Thursday through Sunday morning, was unfortunately very unpleasant. I strongly believe the Barrymore should be more transparent about this arrangement so guests can make informed decisions. Overall, this was a highly disappointing experience, and I would not recommend staying here."

"Very short-staffed team trying to handle everything instead of hiring more people. The gap between the door and the floor is too large, allowing light and noise from the hallway to come into the room all night. The cleaning was excellent, but we found the coffee maker very dirty from the previous guest."

"We arrived prior to a cruise vacation along with typical amount of luggage. Unfortunately, there were no 1st floor rooms available and the one elevator was located at the far end of the property. The check in staff apologized and offered to help carry our luggage upstairs since the elevator location was very far and it would have been a long walk to the elevator, then back to our room. While the room appeared to have been updated fairly recently, it smelled very used and old. The bathroom appeared to have been renovated recently and looked very fresh. The breakfast was average and kept updated by an attendant, but the food quality was poor. The omelets, sausage and biscuits were microwave heat and serve, so not very tasty. The property exterior appeared well kept and clean."

"The hotel is very well located. Just a 5min drive to Busch gardens and about 20min drive to downtown or the outlets and 15 min from tampa international airport. The worst part is the breakfast, they might as well not include it. We did not eat there the menu, DIY waffles, cold boiled eggs (ai opend one and the yolk was blackish, bread and something like OJ..o and ugly looking sausages. My son did not like how anything looked and he can usually eat rocks. On day 2 I had to ask the housekeeper to sweep and mop the floor because it was filthy and I even killed a small roach. I guess you get what you pay for but I hoped for something a bit better considering this is a Wyndam hotel."
