"I had a smoke detector die in my room and start beeping around 8 at night. I called the front desk, they said maintenance was gone and they didn't know what to do. They first told me to take the battery out. I refused as I was not physically able to climb on the chair and reach the detector. Furthermore, it seems like a poor idea to instruct your guests to remove the batteries from safety equipment. I called again and pressed for an answer. "The Cherokee Lodge is a lovely, charming little cottage just a few minutes walk to everything fun in Coronado. My daughter and I stayed in room 9 which is very small but plenty of room for the two of us. Our first night was fine aside from the fact the refrigerator in the room did not work but our second was awful. The air conditioning unit kept over heating and blowed hot air. "We had a nice view of the ocean from our balcony. The staff who cleaned were wonderful most staff were very kind and greeted us in yhe halls. The issue we had was the air-conditioning was not working and nothing was done. The room was so humid I could not get my hair or makeup right for the wedding we were there to attend.
