The Sea Hotel

"Booked a year in advance. We were allocated a room in the annexe which is in the car park. Due to this you have to have the curtains shut for privacy which makes the room dark as no natural light. The bed was small and was made to look smaller by the room being so big, assuming it is an accessible room. The bathroom looked dated. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. Good location to stay for the GNR weekend."

"This was a perfect stay for Great North Run. Would definitely recommend. Lovely little touches such as bottles of water, bananas and health bars along with a note re running or watching the GNR was well received. No check in desk, the email with door codes and information about the accommodation and parking was clear and received before we arrived. Free car parking outside the accommodation. Thank you"

"I was very comfortable and the the view was as good as I had anticipated. The weather was kind to me, so I was able to sit on the balcony and read my book. Graham, the host was friendly and helpful and it is obviously a home that he loves. Breakfast was as expected and as advertised. I enjoyed walking around the headland, along the Tyne estuary and into Tynemouth village as well as along the beaches. There are also plenty of places to each in the area. The interior design is good, but it lacks finesse and, for some, would undermine the experience."

"Good location although no dedicated parking, although the owner did provide parking vouchers to allow street parking, however due to busy school holidays and roadworks this was a bit problematic. Good communication from owner on check-in/entry to apartments. Our unit was up several flights of narrow steep stairs, and although two chair lifts were present there was still an intermediate set of stairs that weren’t covered - the chair lifts restricted ability to walk up the stairs with a suitcase safely. Kitchen well appointed although compact and crowded eating/sitting/cooking area. Only provided decaffeinated coffee along with caffeinated and decaf tea, however good to provide drinking chocolate. Close to beaches, shops and rail."

"Everything was perfect. Lovely room which was immaculately clean and well presented. Stephen and Neil were perfect hosts and clearly work really hard to ensure their guests have a lovely stay. Great location for everything in the area. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you!"
