The young lady who checked us in was personable and exceptionally helpful, particularly in attempting to resolve problems connecting our phones, iPads and laptop to the hotel's WiFi. Clearly though, there was something wrong with the hotel's WiFi hub(s) as we have not experienced difficulty at any of the 6 other...

"Great place for an overnight stay or two. Easy to find ample parking either on street or to the rear of the property. Great little place, decent clean and well kept. Room was comfortable and slept well. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and easy check in and out."

"Booking was easy, however, the writing was on the wall from early on during our stay. The cups in the room were ring stained, like they were washed out, not washed up. When we asked for a clean cup; rather than changing the dirty cup for a clean one, staff made a point of inspecting the cup and saying it was rinsed but maybe not scrubbed. Yeah, hence why it's dirty, because it's not been cleaned. Our first night was terrible. We were woken at about 0300 by other guests. The next 1.5 hours were...

"The staff were friendly. The hotel was absolutely bare bones, not even a picture on the wall. It felt like a cell. It was loud in the reception and with cigarette and weed smoke all around the entrance door from the people congregating there."

"There’s free coffee near the Reception! It’s a great location if you have a car and would like to take the train in Edinburgh and sample many whiskys. A very walkable town."

"We found the Westerwood to be very charming. We used the spa facilities, watched the world cup game in the evening, and played a round of golf in the morning. Disappointing that we were never offered a scorecard from the pro shop, also be aware the course is pretty long and you need to pre-book a buggy! The course was lovely, well maintained and worth the hike!"

"I was hoping that they would connect our rooms since I booked them together for our family/kids, but they couldn't accommodate. The bar closed very early for a weekend, just my opinion. And the Kelpies was supposed to be a 15 minute walk as advertised by everyone, but nothing is mentioned about how unsafe it is to walk areas that have no sidewalk.
