"When walking into the Elk + Avenue Hotel the lobby is absolutely stunning, so you would expect the entire hotel to be that way... wrong. The rooms are budget at best. We spent 8 days exploring Banff and Jasper and this was definitely my least favorite hotel. The rooms are super dated and in need of some TLC. "We booked our room as a king room. When we got to the property, we were told they upgraded us. After wandering around (it's difficult to find rooms) we found our "upgraded" room. It was very outdated, extremely small and had a spiral staicase to get to our bed. We are in out 60's and were to say the least not thrilled with this. Went to the front desk to say this is unacceptable. After having to get a little upset about this as were were staying for 5 days and could not manuver this...
