The hotel is right on the beach. One of my non negotiable requirements for a resort holiday. As is a well appointed ocean view room, and complimentary buffet breakfast.
Centara Ao Nang Beach did not fail. From the welcome drink, to the complimentary fruit basket and bottled water, it was heaven from the moment we walked into reception.
The resort has two pools, one has two water slides and offers motorised pool toys for hire. This larger pool has poolside rooms with their own balconies, so you can step out straight into the pool. Other ground floor rooms have their own private pool.
The other pool is set between the hotel and the beach, with plenty of sunbeds and the requisite pool bar. The staff are more than happy to take your order and deliver your drinks without you needing to even get out of the pool. I spent many, many hours in that pool over the eight days we spent there. We met many people who had only booked a few days, but extended their stay because Centara is so good.
We've visited in low season, so it was quiet. The perfect time for a very relaxing holiday.
It's a very short stroll along the beach path to shops, restaurants and bars, with so much choice at different price points.
I will definitely come back... hopefully soon."
