Lovely location, my room was a little dated. The bathroom had an overhead shower over the bath, due to the sloping roof I was unable to stand up straight. Very friendly and enjoyed the free coffee

Property was lovely, room was a nice size and clean and in great decorative order. liked the 2 options for access with key card and on mobile phone. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location and was easy to find, right on Vondel park. I had a lovely time staying here

Did the job

A no frills hotel, but in a lovely area which is quiet but easy walking distance to museums, restaurants and cafes, city centre and busier spots, and abutting Vondelpark. The hotel wasn’t anything special, with a few small issues (e.g. marks on the walls, bathroom was very cold and radiators never came on which was tough in early feb, had to turn my bedroom radiator on when I arrived and it didn’t make much difference, a significant dip between the two single mattresses making up the bed, and I didn’t love the pillows - subjective, I know). However the location was great for me, it was clean and had everything basic that I needed. Staff were also very helpful with my last-minute late checkin request following a flight delay. Also, I was just grateful not to be in a hostel! Seemed expensive for what it was, but Amsterdam is expensive!

Das Personal war Mega freundlich und im Zimmer hatte man alles was man braucht auch das Doppelbett war Mega bequem. Alles war zu Fuß erreichbar. Allerdings konnte man bei uns im Zimmer die Tür vom Badezimmer nicht richtig schließen… Zusammenfassend kann man sagen das es sauber und zentral war.

Viagem quase arruinada por hotel

Que experiência assombrosa. Quando reservamos, o local parecia belo pelas fotos. Chegamos animados, pois amamos Amsterdam, mas ver a estadia foi um balde de água fria. Primeiro, não há recepção 24 horas, então qualquer problema que tiver, só poderá ser resolvido a partir das 10h da manhã. Nosso quarto ficava num andar quase subterrâneo. Os corredores eram escuros, apertados, parecendo uma ala psiquiátrica. Ao entrar no quarto, um cheiro forte e desagradável. Havia sangue de insetos nas paredes, insetos esmagados no teto. Mosquitos. A cama de casal prometida, queen, era na verdade duas camas de solteiro grudadas. Queríamos muito ir embora e pegar um reembolso, mas um homem careca da recepção falou que reembolso não seria possível. Havia quartos melhor conservados e limpos no hotel, mas ele falou que seria impossível nos mudar para lá (mesmo ele sendo o mesmo preço do que pagamos). Tentamos fazer um upgrade pagando, sem sucesso. Ele ainda nos tratou de maneira irônica, com deboche. No dia seguinte, estávamos dormindo, quando fomos surpreendidos com alguém tentando entrar no quarto. Uma camareira entrou com nós lá dentro, e precisei gritar várias vezes para ela fechar a porta. O quarto também era muito muito quente, quase não consegui dormir. Era super abafado, sem ar condicionado, e cobertores pesados na cama nos faziam suar a noite inteira. Abrir a janela não era uma opção, pois muitos mosquitos entravam. Num geral, um horror e talvez o pior hotel que já fiquei na Europa.

I would have given a 5 star easily but since we needed wifi for our trip it was at best a 3 star. We booked here because it was in a good area by vondelpark and a decent price. The ad says free wifi but didn’t disclose that it doesn’t reach all the rooms. Made it very frustrating. Other than that it was amazing and great staff.

Great location, architecture outside beautiful. Room size ok but no AC on 80 degree day (not their fault). Main problem was the room smelled very musty and there was mold along floor in bathroom. Asked front desk to come to room and she did. She said it smelled normal to her.

Beliggenheden var fin. Vi boede i kælderen, med udgang til "gårdhave". Hotellet er renoveret, men har uheldige løsninger (brusegulv hælder fx forkert vej). Meget venlig personale, der hjalp flere gange med dyner etc.

The building itself is a very nice period building with easy access to Vondel Park. Unfortunately converting this property to a hotel was poorly done and does not match its 3 star rating. Our basement room did not offer the "city view" promised, it was cramped and sparsely decorated/furnished and the room safe was not fixed to any surface making it vulnerable to theft. There was evidence of poor maintenance of paintwork and the shower area (tiny) was unclean. The reception was not manned beyond 7pm so there was no-one on site to contact if an emergency (fire?) arose during the night. The photographs and description of the property were misleading. I will not be returning to this hotel and would not advise anyone else to do so.
