"Even though we where supposed to be a VIP customer, we received a room with a small window facing a construction a few feet away. After I asked for another room they put me on a "waiting list" shortly after I got a call that they might have a front room but there would be an additional charge of 90Euro a day. After I talked to a manager, they reduced the surcharge to 50Euro a day. We took the room which was very nice and had a great view."

"Porto Palácio was an excellent choice. The staff is super, every person we interacted with was so friendly, always providing helpful information and tips about the city and attractions, and supporting us every time. The rooftop is delicious at night, a true gift to relax after a terrific day at Porto. The property was comfortable, clean, and quiet, a little bit distance by walking from Porto Riviera, but Uber service worked efficiently. "

"Good hotel. Location is good if you prefer a quieter part of town. Unfortunately there is a building site next to the hotel. Big seller for the hotel is the pool on the rooftop. Downside - drinks at the hotel seem to be overpriced and service in the bar at the ground floor is slow. Also the aircon in the room doesn't work. "

"What a great location! It's mid-way on the semi-pedestrian Rua das Flores. There's a constant parade in front of the hotel. Restaurants, shopping, buskers in abundance a few feet away. [We ate breakfast nearby instead of in the hotel.] We had dumped our car at the airport. We took an Uber to the hotel, but taking a taxi is better.
