Maldron Hotel Liverpool City

8/10 Good
"Pros - Very clean, room spotless, as well as communal areas. Well maintained hotel. - Very central right next to Liverpool 1 and Albert docks. - Very close to car park (although I did forget to rebook so didn't get the hotel discount meaning was a pricy stay) - breakfast was good, plenty to choose from and nice was included in room rate. - bed comfy, shower pressure good, view from room spectacular. - staff looked happy and acknowledged all guests which was nice to see. Cons - Doors slamming all night - the doors to rooms need a stopper adding. Doors very loud and woke us up a few times. - Not so sound proof, can hear people walking up and down the corridors and talking, again woke us up a few times and we are not light sleepers. - There was a smoke smell in the corridors Very odd. - Not a fan of the self check in, I know some people prefer it, but I prefer to speak to someone. The receptionist gives the first impression of a hotel, if I checked in before arrival or on a machine it feels less special. Please dont get rid of the reception desk."

"After a recent accident I required a room with walk in shower, the hotel was extremely helpful providing two bathrooms one walk in shower and the other a very large bathroom which could accommodate a wheelchair. As a stranger to Chester, found it very difficult to find the underground car park. Did mention this to the Receptionist on check out, the sign is so small it’s difficult to locate."
